DRK Foundation supports Energiesprong Global Alliance with multi-year partnership

Draper Richards Kaplan Foundation (DRK) has announced its investment in the Energiesprong Global Alliance (EGA).

DRK Foundation supports Energiesprong Global Alliance with multi-year partnership

Over the next three years, the Dutch-based foundation will provide both funding and organisational support to accelerate the international scaling of the proven Energiesprong approach.

Powering the energy transition with sustainable homes

The support from DRK Foundation strengthens EGA’s ambition to drive the transition towards sustainable, affordable and desirable homes worldwide. The Energiesprong approach focuses on delivering high-performing homes at scale, as a key solution in the global energy transition.

Driving systemic change through renovation

With the support of DRKF Foundation, EGA is further strengthening its role as an international accelerator. By combining knowledge development, market activation and global collaboration, the partnership helps accelerate industrialised renovation solutions for existing homes. As most homes of the future already exist today, scaling renovation is essential to creating a more sustainable, affordable and resilient housing sector.

Eric Aurenche, CEO of EGA, says: “DRK Foundation’s grant support marks a pivotal moment for EGA. We’ve proven that deep retrofits can be delivered quickly and at scale — but unlocking that potential globally requires exactly the kind of long-term, hands-on partnership that DRK provides. This collaboration will support EGA in expanding the Energiesprong movement to more European countries.”

“Globally, retrofitting housing is one of the most urgent yet underperforming levers for decarbonization,” says Rob Tashima, Managing Director at DRK Foundation and EGA Board Member. “Energiesprong Global Alliance stands out for its ability to turn complex renovations into fast, affordable upgrades. To date, the Energiesprong model has catalyzed more than 16,000 retrofits across five European countries, including the Netherlands, France, Italy, Germany and the UK, at half the cost of traditional retrofits while achieving up to 80% reductions in building energy use.”

Energiesprong Global Alliance

Founded in 2022, EGA accelerates the transition to future-fit housing by setting market standards, activating markets and building international collaboration. The organisation works with international market development teams, housing providers, industry, financiers and policymakers to create a shared understanding of what future-proof housing requires.
